This project was a case study inwhich I redesigned the logo for the Purple Penguin Cafe. The goal of this project was to simplify the logo while maintaining the charm and personality of the original brand.
While I think the original logo is a fun idea, it's too busy and hard to understand. The slice of fruit in the background is confusing and makes the logo more cluttered. The penguin and it's cup of coffee are very different stylistically and clash. In my logo I wanted it to be more obvious that it to be simpler without losing the personality of the brand. The new design makes the penguin drinking coffee the focal point of the design. It's more stylistically cohesive. It also gets rid of all the weird colours from the original logo, simplifying it into one shade of purple.
